Bobby Henderson
Head of Emerging Opportunities I Veloxi I Columbus, Ohio
Bobby Henderson is Claire Henderson's husband, biggest supporter and occasional unofficial representative. He works in artificial intelligence at Veloxi, where he holds the title of Head of Emerging Opportunities, a role whose opportunities remain largely emerging. A natural networker, Bobby believes every interaction has the potential to become a valuable professional connection. He carries business cards everywhere and considers almost any social occasion an appropriate setting for an introduction. He has never knowingly missed an opportunity to mention his job title.
Bobby is passionate about innovation, disruption and positioning himself alongside people who are going places. He takes personal branding extremely seriously and maintains an active LinkedIn presence, where his career developments are sometimes announced ahead of the developments themselves. He enjoys the finer things in life, particularly when they can be secured through loyalty points, corporate benefits or somebody else's expense account. Bobby considers himself an authority on luxury travel and is always happy to explain how little he paid for an experience that would ordinarily have been very expensive.
As Claire's husband, Bobby takes a keen interest in her professional life. He frequently accompanies her on business trips, attends company events in an unofficial capacity and has developed an impressive familiarity with the internal affairs of an organisation that does not employ him. He is always willing to offer advice, particularly when the situation calls for a strongly worded email.
Outside work, Bobby enjoys fine dining, maximising credit card rewards, discussing emerging technologies and exploring opportunities for further professional development. He has been considering an MBA for some time not for the education, but so he can tell people he has an MBA.
Bobby is always open to an exciting new opportunity, especially one that comes with a more senior title, a prestigious employer (hello Palantir) or an attractive benefits package. He has business cards available should anyone wish to discuss.
